Golf – one of California’s favorite pastimes. Golf courses – intensely managed turf, trees, hardscape and waterways, both natural and man-made, that take tons of abuse. Golf course superintendents – responsible for management. Arborists – responsible for care. The relationship of trees and turf has been the topic of discussion and debate for years throughout the green industry. Join us for a full day of education and discovery on just how to manage these two important facets of the game. This workshop is designed for Arborists, Urban Foresters, Parks Supervisors and Golf Superintendents. Getting a handle on the environmental factors of the course can increase the golf experience and build a system that works harmoniously and efficiently. Like it or not, trees and turf are often planted side by side. For golfers, trees on a course can be both delightful and dangerous to the game. To the golf course superintendent, trees can be a detriment and a turf disaster. The best courses offer verdant turf and tall trees living in harmony. How do you do it? Find out here.
